Public transport is a great way to get around in cities that have properly invested in it. If you live in one of these cities, chances are you just take for granted how seamless an effective public transport system can be for getting around the city easily. For those of us who live in cities where public transport is mismanaged or underfunded risking being late for work because the bus was 20 minutes late or just didn't show up makes it not worth it. When we visit those cities with working public transport systems we can't help but be amazed at how easy it is to get around without jumping in the car.
Still, regardless of how efficient or inefficient your local public transport is, they all share the same problem—and that problem is in the name: Public. See, any time interacting with the public is involved, you're going to have some interesting experiences with unruly and unhinged individuals who think that it's their world, and we're all just living in it.
The best thing to do when facing these situations is the same thing that you should always do when sharing a space with strangers: Avoid eye contact and pretend they don't exist to avoid drawing attention to yourself. But usually, that means that their bad behavior goes unpunished and unaddressed. In this case, this ignoramus was made to miss his stop by the bus driver he was harassing and instead got to take a long walk to cool off.
